Hey glitter babe and welcome to the new and improved Glitter Diaries!
I took a year off from blogging, or having a website for that matter, to focus on YouTube. This past year has been the biggest for me in terms of discovering what I really want to do with my life and what I want to talk about.
Becoming a mom has really changed my life (as it does for all moms) but it also got me re-evaluating my plans for what I wanted my future to be like. Being at home with Ariella for a whole year was the best experience and that feeling of not having to go into work and focus on what I wanted to do as well as watch her grow was the best feeling ever.
I realized that, ultimately, I want to work for myself and be there for my daughter and family whenever they need me. So, what does that mean for Glitter Diaries? I took a long time trying to figure out how to really niche down and create something special for a smaller group of people out there and what I’ve grown a passion for in the past year is making mymakeup and beauty routines as quick and effective as possible as well as making self care a bigger priority.
You really forget to take care of yourself when you have kids. There were days where I barely ate or stepped away from Ari to take some time for myself within the first couple months of having her in my life. I felt so guilty about the thought of doing something for myself while she needed me.
What I’ve learned during this past year of discovery and learning is that if you don’t take care of yourself, how can you take care of someone else?? It’s not selfish to take some time to go through your skincare routine, put a little makeup on and get a work out in there because it helps YOU be the best mom you can be.
I heard a really good saying once that said, “you can’t pour from an empty cup, take care of yourself first”. When you feel better and take better care of yourself, you’re able to take better care of others.
So my mission in life is to help millennial moms, like myself, learn easy and effective ways to take care of themselves through their beauty and self care routines. I don’t have the time anymore to just play with a makeup palette and see where the wind takes me, I look for ways to make whatever I’m doing more efficient and yet still produce great results because even though I have less time in my day, I want to make the most of it. And I want you to learn all about what I’ve been learning and testing out too!
So, while this website will still touch on makeup, it’s going to be about so much more because mom life is about so much more and I want to help out as many of you as I can so you don’t feel hopeless like I did in the beginning.
So keep your eyes peeled for all of the great resources and downloadable content (you read that right!) to help take you on your journey of self care!
Hugs, kisses & glitter,
